Bring your group to the Museum for an exciting learning experience. The Museum offers group rates for any group of 10 or more. Your group may choose to visit the Museum at your own pace on a Self-Guided Tour or experience one of our Docent-Guided Tours.

Self-Guided Group Tour

Tour the Museum exhibits at your own pace. Your group members can choose the Museum Galleries where they would like to spend their time – or they can visit them all! Docents may also be available to answer your group members' questions about the exhibits. (Please allow 60-90 minutes for your visit.)

Cost: $13.00 per person

Scout troops receive a special group rate for self-guided tours. For more information, please contact the Tours and Groups Coordinator or by phone at (505) 245-2137, extension 103.

Docent-Guided Tour

Our knowledgeable and friendly Docents will guide your group through the Museum. The Docent will narrate the exhibits for you and provide additional insights into the stories behind the displayed objects.

Cost: $15.00 per person
One docent for every 20 visitors. The maximum group size is 80.

For your enjoyment, we offer three different tour options:

  • The History Tour – Learn how nuclear chemistry shaped our future. This tour focuses on scientific discoveries of the atom, the Manhattan Project, and Trinity Test, the Cold War era, and the airplanes, missiles, and rockets on display in the Museum's Heritage Park. (Please allow 60-75 minutes for your visit.)
  • The Science Tour – Nuclear chemistry has a wide range of applications. This tour focuses on the science behind peaceful applications such as nuclear medicine and nuclear power. The tour will also touch on atomic history and radiation. (Please allow 60-75 minutes for your visit.)
  • The General Tour – This tour gives visitors a general overview of the Museum's exhibits. Your Docent will provide a brief history of the Manhattan Project and the Trinity Test, guide you through the Museum's Heritage Park, where the airplanes are on display, and discuss the peaceful applications of nuclear science, including nuclear power and medicine. This general overview does not include as much detail as our other tours, but it is perfect for any group with a broad interest in the Museum. (Please allow 60-75 minutes for your visit.)

To make your reservation, please contact the Tours and Groups Coordinator Stephen Whitman or by phone at (505) 245-2137, extension 103. Pre-payment is required to secure the group rate, and payment must be made at the time of scheduling.
